Liposuction Fat Biodiesel - A Hoax?

Dr C Alan Bittner continues to be a news worthy doctor. Again it might not be in the way he might have hoped:

LipoBioDiesel - A Hoax?

At least this would get him out of the "unlawful use of biological waste charge." This may have been the medical board's biggest charge against him. Then again he does go from that problem to admitting to fraud. The lawyers are going to love this one.

Lisa Rinna - Playboy? & Labiaplasty Post

Dlisted

It seems like Lisa Rinna is to do a Playboy shoot. According to Dlisted, she has a "body only a plastic surgeon could love." I guess we'll see on that one. I have never been too crazy about the trout pout.

More intersting in this Dlisted post is the mention of another post on why Playboy never shows large labia lips.

As a labiaplasty surgeon, I find the various angles on labiaplasty (no pun intended) fascinating. The bottom line is that some women are very uncomfortable with large lips "down there" and I simply help them with that problem. How that can be anybody else's business is beyond me.

Merry Xmas - Dr Bittner's Weird Green SUV & Other Bull

Daily Mail

Dr Bittner's story has hit the British papers. They seem to love the Lipo'd fat for gasoline angle. I wonder if anyone believes the "after ten years of private practice, I am going back to South America to volunteer with a small clinic...where I can help those most in need" part. It sounds like he fled the US to avoid prosecution to me.

"Large, flabby pubic mound after TT" - MakeMeHeal Question

MMH forum

I've reached the one year anniversary of my TT/lipo. I've dropped from a pre-surgical size 18/20 to a size 12/14, and I'm quite pleased with that.

What I am NOT pleased with is the huge mons pubis that my surgeon did not lipo (although she had promised me she would) which sticks out of my clothes. It really looks like I've got a guy's 'package' - one most guys would be proud to display!

What people do not realize is that plastic surgery is not like a car. You are not buying a product, but a surgical service. Surgical results vary with the surgeon and the patient's ability to heal.

One surgeon's tummy tuck is not the same as another's.

Tummy tuck surgery in particular can require secondary "touch up" operations and although they are usually small, they can be larger particularly in larger cases. This woman will likely benefit from a touch-up operation and needs to discuss with her surgeon what might be done.

Could Rihanna have joined the Breast Implant Club?

This very typical implant curve is quite suggestive.

Then again it might just be her garment. Hollywood Tuna thinks it's the top.

Projections forecast general surgeon deficit by 2010

LocumLife

A recent study conducted by Ohio State University projects the U.S. will be short 1,300 general surgeons within two years’ time—and lacking 6,000 of these specialists by 2050—due to increasing population demand.

This is by design and it is not just a function of "population demand." When you take their life style, increased regulations and pretty poor reimbursement, you get fewer surgeons. Formerly double-boarded surgeons like myself do not re-certify in general surgery when the requirements get more time consuming and expensive. I technically counted as one less US general surgeon when I decided not to re-certify last year.

Mom Sells Twins For Liposuction

ParentDish

A mother in Belgium stands accused of selling her newborn twin boys to fund her liposuction surgery. The woman, Sonia Ringoir, 31, is a restaurant worker in Ghent, Belgium, and according to an interview with her current boyfriend, she did so because her estranged husband "put pressure on her to have her body rebuilt."

This is sad if true.

Celebs Inspire Plastic Surgery Wishlists

PopEater

This year, plastic surgeons will get a lot of practice crafting Angelina Jolie's full lips, Scarlett Johansson's breasts and Brad Pitt's nose.

I guess this is OK as long as these people are targeting tendencies and not exact images. I fortunately don't get many requests like this. Lips can be made fuller pretty easily as can breasts, but you can't take a woman with medium frame and completely change that.

Aylar Lie - Before and After Breast Implant Removal

Aylar Lie has had an unusually interesting life. She has been Miss Norway, a porn star in the US, and now is a Norwegian celebrity of sorts.

She is interesting from a plastic surgery point of view as she admits to having had breast implants and then later having them removed. There are images with her before and after the removal here. She appears to have had "porn star variety" high profile implants that are really fake-looking, but then again it was probably in the time she was a porn star.

For people who have asked the question how a woman may look like after removing her implants, here is an example.

Vinnie Jones' Nose Cut in Bar Fight

Daily Mail

Former football hardman Vinnie Jones had his nose ‘cut down to the bone’ in a vicious bar-room brawl that erupted after he was taunted about being a tough guy.

Liquor was probably involved. These wounds fortunately heal pretty well in most cases. No plastic surgeon likes the inconvenient aspect of them as they tend to happen at night. At least this guy should pay his bill.

Hilary Duff Gets Super Busty?

PopoHolic

Not only has the Duffster gotten like, ten times hotter in the last year, but her breasts have grown at an expeditious rate.

Looks like a "push-me-up-to-the-roof" bra to me. I don't see implants. Not yet.

Plastic Surgery Billboard Taken Down Near Military Base

NWFDaily News

The billboard advertisement on Martin Luther King Boulevard showing a plastic surgery patient's new curves against an American flag backdrop will be taken down.

A plastic surgery billboard was apparently taken down near a military base. I too serve a fair number of military patients as my office is near Camp Pendleton, but simply offer them hefty discounts. I get fewer objections this way.

Demi Moore & 3 Million Dollars for Plastic Surgery

Celebitchy

From Hello magazine:

Do you get irritated by all the rumours suggesting you paid $3 million for surgical procedures on your face and body?
“Yes, it’s irritating - and it’s also not true. But to fight it feels futile because it just perpetuates the myth. The truth is I have no problem with enhancing one’s looks or fixing something that’s changed. It’s always an option, but I can’t see me ever getting something like that done.”

I think she was probably refuting the price tag, not the surgery. Really how could anyone spend that much or maybe I should re-phrase to say I would like to apply to be her surgeon. ;)

John Di Saia MD
