Ouch, this pic from DSF (link above) shows that Tara's backside has incurred a nasty "slide" of sorts.

(4) If you have loose skin liposuction will not correct it. It pretty much treats fat and only skin to a very modest extent.

Her skin tone is not so great for lipo to work well. I really wonder who did it and how much it has been repeated. How she looked at the time it was done would be important to know as well.

Dangers of Small Breasts?

The Onion

This plastic surgeon has got to be kidding. [and it turns out he was - see the comments] Some women desire larger breasts, but the "dangers of small breasts?" This is kinda "over the top."

No woman ever "needs" breast enlargement. Cosmetic surgery is by definition discretionary. It is debatable as to whether some women look better with surgery, but opinion is the name of the game here.

Travis Barker was injured/burned in a plane crash and required some not-so-glorious plastic surgery (skin grafting) afterward. Here we see a skin grafted area on his leg. He should really be keeping this out of the sun. Many plastic surgeons also recommend pressure garments with silicone inserts to minimize scarring.

Bigger Breasts are not always Better

26 year old Donna Jones has the biggest natural breasts in the UK - taking over from 32JJ record holder Rachel Aldana. Each breast weighs about the same as two average-size babies. She suffers from backache and hasn’t had a decent night’s sleep for years.

It's not just for appearance here. This woman is in pain. Maybe it's time for a breast reduction?

Tara Reid's upper tummy has been pictured on every blog under the sun as an example of "lipo gone bad." The pics in the link above show that that tummy looks better now. I'd bet that she's gained a little weight.

The Morals of this Lipo Story:

(1) Have your liposuction when you have fat to remove (Tara has been kinda thin for the most part.)

(2) Have your weight stable before surgery. Losing or gaining much afterward can make things look funky.

Courtney Cox - No More Botox

I'm Not Obssessed

Courtney Cox is officially saying no more botox. She tried it (how refreshing that an actress admits to something like this), but it just wasn't for her.

"I went to this doctor once he was like, 'Oh, let me do it just here and here and here.' And I was miserable.

"I mean, I'm an actor, I've got to be able to move my face. When people start messing with their foreheads and can't life their eyebrows, that's weird. It's not that I haven't tried Botox - but I hated it."

Her quote comes from this month's Marie Claire magazine.

Well, Courtney is a "Kinerase" spokes model, so I guess this statement doesn't violate any non-disclosure agreements. Too much Botulinum toxin is a bad thing. Done properly (like so many other things) it usually looks good in the right patient. It sounds like she did her whole forehead (with that comment on not being able to lift her eyebrows) which I recommend against.

"10 Crappy Celebrity Plastic Surgeries"

Blogging can be an interesting experience as it reminds me that plastic surgery is judged like most other things from a variety of perspectives. This Health & Beauty blog lists the "10 crappy celebrity plastic surgeries" (sic). To be objective in all of this you need to admit that there are examples of "surgery gone bad." What most people don't realize in previewing lists like the one at the link is that scary outcomes are frequently the result of many operations performed over a long period of time. These people didn't have one operation and go from normal to freakish.

As we have said before, there can be a point of diminishing return with cosmetic surgery. Wisdom tells us when to stop, assuming of course that you have good advice and take it.

Raquel Welsh - Genes or Good Docs?

TMZ did a post on Raquel Welsh asking if she has had good genes or good docs. I'd bet she's had work but sparingly. A leading problem with plastic surgery over time is that some people "overboard" and have so much that they end up looking unnatural. Ms Welsh has good genetics as well which never hurts.

Sharon Stone may have wanted to treat her child Roan with Botox. Tmz writes that she wanted to treat his foot odor with Botox injections as was stated in her child custody court papers. Botox has been used for sweaty palms but not in children. This was stated in her custody battle, so it might just plain not be true.
