In the wake of the Donda West tragedy the California State Senate has done what they do...enacted another law.

The law merely makes it the law to perform a history and physical on a patient before elective surgery. This is already the standard of care. I have been doing it this way for over a decade. Good doctors already do this. The bad ones will probably not change or they will offload the responsibility to someone else.

I am not a fan of "Feel Good" legislation, but legislators probably felt impelled to appear as if they are doing something even if it really does nothing. This is politics.
