Silicone versus Saline-filled Breast Implants

Paramus Post

I have never been a real fan of silicone gel implants. The FDA approved them but placed the burden upon the patients. Frequent MRIs to ascertain whether or not a rupture has occurred can get expensive when they are paid in cash. This article discusses a few of these issues.

Demi Moore Surgery Analysis

Yeeeah.com

This article claims that "cosmetic surgeons" predict that Demi had had the following:

• Liposuction to her hips, inner and outer thighs and stomach - £16,000
• Beast (sic) implants for 1996 film Striptease - £11,000
• Subsequent operation to reduce her breast implants and have a breast lift - £9,500
• Brow lift - £3,600
• Chemical facial skin peel - £10,000
• Collagen injections (per course) - £200
• Teeth veneered and laser whitening - £6,200
• A long-term diet and fitness routine, including nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga instructor and kick-boxing champion - £165,000

Total: £226,500

[equivalent cost is about $425,000]

I don't know what images they reviewed to determine this, but I think she got soaked on the peel.

Britney Spears Again

Someone e-mailed me Britney Spears upskirt pics. For future reference, I am not interested in such e-mailed items in the future. The question sent with them was whether or not she could use a labiaplasty.

I could not tell from the images thankfully. I could however see that she has likely not had a tummy tuck (unless she just had a muscular repair.) Alone a muscular repair does little. A full tummy tuck removes skin nad fat and tightens the muscles. In one of the images sent my way, there appears to be a C-section scar that stops short of where it would go for a tummy tuck even a mini tummy tuck.

Clint Eastwood Laser Re-surfacing?

City Rag

It looks like Clint Eastwood may have received some much needed skin care...probably laser re-surfacing by the looks of these images borrowed from City Rag.

Full Face laser re-surfacing is a good alternative for patients with severe sun damage. It usually improves both the appearance of the skin as well as reduces the potential for skin cancer from that old sun damage.

Wendy Richard and Plastic Surgery

Digital Spy

"Wendy Richard has turned down an offer to undergo plastic surgery for a reality TV show."

There is not a thing wrong with that. Plastic surgery used to be personal.

Crazy Lawsuits

2 Spare

Sued hospital for having to see the doctors rushing to help their mother
Sisters Janice Bird, Dayle Bird Edgmon and Kim Bird Moran sued their mother's doctors and a hospital after Janice accompanied her mother, Nita Bird, to a minor medical procedure. When something went wrong, Janice and Dayle witnessed doctors rushing their mother to emergency surgery. Rather than malpractice, their legal fight centered on the "negligent infliction of emotional distress" -- not for causing distress to their mother, but for causing distress to them for having to see the doctors rushing to help their mother. The case was fought all the way to the California Supreme Court, which finally ruled against the women. Which is a good thing, since if they had prevailed doctors and hospitals would have had no choice but to keep you from being anywhere near your family members during medical procedures just in case something goes wrong. In their greed, the Bird sisters risked everyone's right to have family members with them in emergencies.

Our legal system has gone nuts. I hope most of these lawsuits are fictitious, but have a feeling some are not.

Kate Winslet Says Husband Says NO to Plastic Surgery

Starpulse

Kate Winslet says her husband would leave her if she had plastic surgery.

The subject of plastic surgery can be polarizing in the home. It is difficult to deal with these situations as a surgeon. It is much better to not do them until there is peace in the home to which the patient will return after surgery. Forcing conflict is of no benefit to anyone.

A woman is proposed by the DA here to have poisoned her Marine husband for the life insurance money so she could have plastic surgery. I hope this is a "Fantasy land proposition."

Greta Van Susteren on Plastic Surgery

Daily Press

On a whim Greta made the decision to have cosmetic eye surgery when she had a month off during her jump from CNN to Fox Television. In her wildest dreams she could never have imagined the media hullabaloo it caused. With her fabulous “new” look she was being touted as Fox-y Greta.

Greta says, “I had eye surgery because I wanted to look better for me.” If anyone told her to do it she would have told them “to go jump in the lake.” A reporter from a major media outlet asked Greta if she thought the surgery would affect her credibility.

Greta’s response was precious: The plastic surgeon had merely fixed her eyes — not removed brain matter or deleted her education or news experience.

I think she had more than just her eyes done, but that is another story. Her reasons for considering surgery are the right ones. Motivation for cosmetic surgery should be internal.

Tara Reid and Basic Plastic Surgery Math II

Pic Source

This tummy has had liposuction at least twice. There is "ripply" skin. The only fix is a tummy tuck and she smokes, so that is dangerous territory.

Basic Plastic Surgery Math II:

Liposuction + Flabby Skin/Skin Excess = Possibly "Giggly" Outcome

And who says we can't learn from celebrity plastic surgery?

The Superficial has more recent Tara tummy images.

Tummy Tuck Jeans News Video

First Coast News

Tummy Tuck jeans is a cute gimmick. They are much cheaper than a tummy tuck.

My patients look way better than that though. :)
