Mexico Plastic Surgery Pictures

MSNBC.com

Do you really want plastic surgery in Mexico? This story has been fleshed out with a few more images and details it seems since the last time I saw it. The pictures are kinda graphic. This story shows the world of the "chop shop" and illustrates exactly what you avoid by going with a reputable plastic surgeon.

If you want to go to Mexico just watch it.

Doctor-owned hospitals?

MSNBC.com

The hospital business is a lousy business in which to be. I would rather open a surgical facility. I had an opportunity to be a part of a group that bought a hospital a few years ago and passed.

In my state real medicine is going into the toilet as doctors realize that the work they have put in to get educated makes practicing fairly unrewarding. That's the reason we have so many non-plastic surgeons turning to plastic surgery. The bottom line is that you need to pay doctors enough to make it worth their while. It all makes me happy to be a real plastic surgeon.

I didn't operate on Ashlee Simpson's Nose

Hello all,

I had a funky call at the office the other day. The caller asked if I did Ashlee Simpson's nose job. I don't do nose jobs. I don't like the operation.

And if I did her operation I wouldn't be able to talk about it unless she gave me permission first. This is called patient confidentiality

Sophia Loren voted World's Most Naturally Beautiful?

Pic Source

Story Link

Scotsman.com features a story about Sophia Loren indicating that she has been "voted the world's most naturally beautiful person, beating younger beauties including Cameron Diaz to the title."

Maybe they didn't know about these pictures I found online. They seem to show post-facelift changes below the chin. Also having no jowl at all at 71 is pretty unlikely.

Add Sophia to the list of the women who denounce plastic surgery and then probably have surgery themselves.

Boston "Condo Liposuction" Death Part II

Boston.Com/Boston Globe

The Brazilian who performed liposuction in the basement of a Condo in Massachusetts and his associates have been changed with manslaughter. It turns out that the surgeon was licensed to practice medicine in Brazil, but was not a plastic surgeon even in his home country.

The District Attorney said:

"People think this is an extension of getting my nails done, getting my hair done. We stress that there should be a lesson learned from the death of this young woman."

Cityrag tags Tara Reid

CityRag Post

With due deference to a great entertainment blog, Cityrag tags Tara Reid here with undeniable Before and After Breast Enhancement images. She has long since slipped to show her nipples enough times (all within view of the trusty paparazzi) that her admission is pretty understandable.

In these images a "flat as a board" Tara and a really busty Tara are seen like night and day. Hormones don't work like that folks.

Lindsay Lohan "Boobjob" Question Revisited Again

CityRag Pics

With the recent pics of Lindsay Lohan hitting the web showing good side views of one breast, bloggers are once again blogging on the subject of breast augmentation. CityRag put up a few images of a really young (or so it appears) Lindsay and the recent images. This doesn't really prove much although I think she is probably post-op myself. Good Pre and Post images are images taken within a short period of time...like a few months tops.

No More Workman's Compensation For Me

Ok. It isn't cosmetic, but I do have a reconstructive practice too. My reconstructive practice has become more and more a Medicare practice as Medicare is the last of the plans for which I am a Provider. "Provider" really should be a dirty word in plastics as overhead usually makes it a loser economically. My overhead does not become any lower just because your insurer wants to pay me poorly. I do not deny patients appointments at the office but I cannot obviously guarantee that their insurers will pay the bill. I will no longer bill Workman's Compensation. Patient who have insurance with "Out of Network" benefits usually get some coverage however.

Workman's Compensation actually used to pay pretty well. Now most W/C plans pay less than Medicare. They also take 3-8 months to pay. I look at Medicare as a service to the community of the retired so working at nearly "break even" isn't as bad. I owe no such favor to the Workman's Compensation insurers. My last few W/C patients have been favors.

Besides lousy pay, Workman's Compensation comes with other great benefits:

(1) Paperwork by the ream. Little if any of this is compensated.

(2) Patients with a high propensity to be involved in litigation with their employers. This draws me away from my patients with phone calls from pushy attorneys looking to sweeten their caseloads, occasional threats from such attorneys and court time. I just don't have time for these kinds of distractions.

Rosie O’Donnell on Plastic Surgery

Chronicle Herald

Rosie O’Donnell got some heat for her scheduled appearance on Nip Tuck as she has been "anti plastic surgery."

Her response:

"Have you seen the show? The show is anti-plastic surgery. The show is about the idea that, for the most part, plastic surgery does not solve your problems."

Whoever said that it did?

BS Plastic Surgery Ads

Self Promotion Release

When a doc produces a press release for self promotion that proclaims he is "one of the leading cosmetic surgeons in ....," I cringe in embarrassment. Not only is the platelet gel mentioned in this case controversial regarding it's potential benefit, I have heard of cases in which it was associated with more problems.

Buyer beware when docs promote themselves this way.

Shannon Doherty Tells "The View" -- No Plastic Surgery!

Post Chronicle

"Apparently Shannon Doherty was so broken up with tabloid reports of her having had plastic surgery that production on her new show 'Breaking Up With Shannon Doherty' had to be stopped until she could stop crying, according to a report in The Scoop."

Really. What's the big deal? I think these things are planned publicity stunts.
